Education Modules for New Students

Before they begin their studies at UMD, every new undergraduate student is required to complete Decisions: Alcohol Awareness and Education an online course that uses the latest prevention techniques and research to educate students about the impact of alcohol on the mind and body.  Whether or not your student drinks alcohol, this course will empower your student to make well-informed decisions about alcohol and help them better cope with the drinking behavior of peers.

Minnesota State Law requires that every incoming student must participate in training on sexual assault prevention. One way all of our students (undergraduate, graduate, and professional) will receive training is through another online course called Cultivating Awareness & Prevention of Sexual Violence.

Our partner for providing the online education courses is a company called AliveTek. These courses are part of AliveTek's prevent.zone curriculum. We’re providing you with documents that will give you an overview of the required courses.  This information is provided to you in order for you to become familiar with the curriculum, to support your student's completion of the modules, and to encourage you to have conversations with your student about these important topics.
